Savannah Quarters® Hosted Autumn Fest on October 14th to Benefit Family Promise of Greater Savannah

Savannah Quarters® was pleased to host its second major event of the year, Autumn Fest, on Saturday, October 14th from 11am to 3pm around the Park in Easthaven. This large-scale event was free to the public; however, donations were accepted on behalf of Family Promise of Greater Savannah as it celebrated their 20th anniversary. Attendees enjoyed fun and games, face painting, balloon art, food trucks, a pumpkin patch, a magic show featuring Magic Marc, and a dunk tank filled with local celebrities and news figures. Over 1,000 people united at this collaborative community event that raised $6,781.56 to be used to support area families in need.
Donations came from event attendees as well as from Savannah Quarters’® builder partners: Ashwood Fine Homes, Dream Finders Homes, Mungo Homes, and Village Park Homes. Additional funds were also raised through Food Truck Philanthropy as The Big Cheese and Ben & Jerry’s donated 10% of their profits to the cause.
Family Promise is a non-profit organization comprised of a network of Host Congregations and volunteers who provide area families in peril the opportunity to remain together, to build up savings, and to make connections with those motivated to help them succeed. In addition to Host Congregations, the Network also consists of Support Congregations, which contribute volunteers, in-kind donations, and financial donations to the Network.
“We were excited when Savannah Quarters® asked if they could host an event on our behalf,” said Katrina Bostick, Executive Director of Family Promise of Greater Savannah. “There’s often a struggle as resources are finite and we are constantly seeking ways to raise funds that allow us to serve our clients, but we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to celebrate our 20th year! Savannah Quarters® helped us save $10,000 just by hosting this event and we all know in the non-profit world: money saved is money earned. We have truly been blessed by Savannah Quarters®!”
A check presentation was held at Family Promise of Greater Savannah’s Day Center on Tuesday, November 7th at 1pm.
