Summertime Fun in The Heart of it All

July 10th, 2024

Don’t let the summertime heat put a damper on enjoying all the activities that Savannah has to offer. There’s plenty of air-conditioned fun to be had — from arts and culture to comedy and ice cream — all located just miles from Savannah Quarters.

Beat the Heat at the Theater

Escape the heat by catching a live show in a refreshingly cool, dark theater. Constructed in 1818, the Historic Savannah Theater is the oldest in the country. It features a rotating schedule of high-energy musicals, dance performances and comedy shows — including matinee performances. It also happens to be Savannah’s top attraction on Tripadvisor.

Art, Culture & Retail Therapy

The multi-talented artists from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) have their works showcased in galleries all over the world, on the red carpet and in high-end fashion magazines. You have the opportunity to view the collections and shop for unique, inspired objets d’art at their local retail gallery, shopSCAD, featuring works created by SCAD students, faculty and alumni. Whether you’re in the market for fine art, one-of-a-kind accessories, home decor, stationery or maybe a simple branded t-shirt, there is truly something for everyone.

What’s Summer Without Ice Cream?

Satisfy your sweet tooth with a scoop, or two, of Leopold’s Ice Cream. Founded by three brothers from Greece in 1919, Leopold’s has perfected the art of the frozen dessert. Some of their creamy, delicious flavors include Tutti Frutti, Rum Bisque, Lemon Custard, Peppermint and more. There are also gluten free and vegan options. You can also treat yourself to sundaes, floats and one of everything from their homemade pastry menu!

After a day of exploring Savannah’s myriad of activities and events, it’s nice to make the short trip back home to the comfort and tranquility that awaits at Savannah Quarters. Unpack the day’s memories and plan to make even more, here, in the Heart of it All.
