Businesses expanding to accommodate population boom in Pooler

POOLER, GA (WTOC) – Medical and dental services are expanding in Pooler.

Pooler Mayor Mike Lamb says new facilities are coming and existing services are needing more room.

WTOC sat down with the mayor to learn about all of the new services coming to Pooler, including the new micro hospital that’s currently under construction and set to open this spring.

Mayor Lamb says for years he’s been wanting a hospital to come to Pooler. And now, St. Joseph’s/Candler is making the mayor’s wish come true. The new micro hospital will have various services and make a big footprint in the city’s economic development.

With the U.S. Census Bureau showing Pooler’s population growing over recent years, Mayor Lamb says it’s important that the city is accommodating.

Throughout the years, medical and dental providers have been bringing their services to Pooler, including St. Joseph’s/Candler and Memorial Health. Both Savannah hospitals currently offer several different services in the Pooler area.

And St. Joseph’s/Candler is preparing to bring more once the micro hospital is complete.

Mayor Lamb believes even more healthcare services will come once the hospital is open. And, some current services are having to expand due to the increase in patients, including at Godley Station Dental who is celebrating the addition of a new wing in its building. This is the second time the dental office has had to expand.
