Savannah Quarters Hosts Tournament for First Responders

October 29th, 2021

At Savannah Quarters, we strive to serve and give back to the community in all that we do. This past week, we had an opportunity to do just that. We were honored to host several hundred
first responders from across the United States and Canada, here at our award winning, 18-hole Greg Norman Signature course in Savannah.

This three day tournament was organized by the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) and held Monday, October 18th through Wednesday, October 20th. More than 300 fire fighters
(from Canada and the U.S.) played against each other, rotating through three Savannah area courses. Savannah Quarters, Savannah Harbor, and Cross Winds hosted 100 players each day, and players had an opportunity to play all three courses.

“Savannah Quarters was excited to host this international group of first responders,” says Savannah Quarters Golf Lifestyle Director, Peyton Grymes. “Their service to our communities is deeply appreciated. We are delighted we can give something back to these folks who place their lives on the line to protect us every day.”

Representing more than 325,000 professional fire fighters and paramedics across the United States and Canada, the International Association of Firefighters has been answering the call for
more than 100 years. They are the driving force behind nearly every advance in the fire and emergency services in the 21st century. With headquarters in Washington, DC, and Ottawa, Ontario, IAFF members protect more than 85 percent of the population in communities throughout the United States and Canada.

The tournament brought together our everyday heroes from around the world for a little friendly competition. We, at Savannah Quarters, were honored to play a part in this big event!
